‘Tis the season…and we are definitely jolly! We are so happy to have had such a wonderful year at The Great Room. We have met many great families and are happily building and designing their new homes.
We have all been impatiently awaiting our debut on HGTV, and it’s here at last. On Monday night, December 23, at 8PM and 11PM, tune in to “Kitchen Design” and see Michelle and homeowner, Chris, showing off her kitchen. We have been assured that the other segments (at least another 7 between “Kitchen Design” and “Bed and Bath”) will be aired the first of the New Year. So you know what that means-a second newsletter that I have to create. I hear Paul laughing already!
We’ve also had a good year in print. The Star House was on the cover of “Better Homes and Garden’s Decorating” magazine for the May/June issue. Maureen’s Red White and Blue looked stunning! We are hoping for more in the near future.
Looking back over 2002, Paul and I were surprised at the variety of homes that we’ve built and all their locations. Maine took the top spot this year with beach houses, as always. We are back on the water this winter in Moody Beach and York. We have returned to New Hampshire and many towns that we are quite fond of…Exeter, Brentwood, and Hampton Falls to name a few. Our new location is right in Portsmouth-making site visits really easy! We are also starting a project in my neck of the woods-Massachusetts! This one is going to cause quite a stir, as it is definitely not a typical house…even for us. It will be very contemporary. We will try to keep you up-to-date with all these new projects. Just have to get Paul out with the camera again.
On personal notes…Paul had a big year. He became the grandfather (3rd time) of a beautiful little girl, and his youngest daughter was married. Michelle worked continually on her garden at home to make it the envy of her neighborhood, and wowed Eliot’s Garden Club with her colorful float in their town’s parade! Andy is working on becoming Coach of the Year for every sport imaginable…he works tirelessly with his sons. I’m in the throws of college admissions with my daughter and my son is getting his driver’s license next week. No tension at our house! Actually, it’s been fun.
So we’ll end with a wish to you for a healthy and happy New Year. Tune in and watch us on TV…we’ll keep you posted about upcoming shows!
